Wanted to get these pictures published for linking purposes. but since I’m posting, I’d better tell the story…
I purchased a laser collimator, and tried it out on the Konus scope only to find that by working the focuser the dot on the primary mirror was moving like 2-3″ each direction. No wonder I was having issues with this scope. I ended up getting it all tightened back up and working within a decent tolerance window, but alas the scope still has the focus / halo effect so the mirror is indeed spherical. I have nothing else to try now.
